Getting back into crafting!

So this isn't scrapbooking, or an ORMV challenge... I'm just using this blog as an opportunity to share my latest crafting project(s). Who better to share with than my crafting friends! (Besides, I've already driven Shaughn insane talking about this stuff the past couple of months, so I appreciate having a new audience.) Daniela's first birthday finally inspired and motivated me to dig out my paper trimmer and glue stick. :) The theme of the party was tiny, so the invitation was the size of a business card, I made tiny party hats (which Daniela refused to wear, so I included a picture of Mia and her friend modeling them), and a tiny birthday cake. I also made a photo banner with pictures from each month of Daniela's first year. Hope you guys like them, and thanks for letting me share! What have you all been working on?

(By the way, the invitation mentions an indoor playground... unfortunately, we had to cancel that party due to all 5 of us getting sick that weekend! Luckily, the weather was perfect the following weekend for a birthday do-over at the park.)

Tammy's September Results

Finally, all up-to-date! I gave Rachel her layout on Tuesday so it is "safe" to post the pictures. Even though it took me 8 months to complete the challenge, I had a wonderful time planning the layout and what I wanted to do. I knew what I wanted, just never found the time to complete when Rachel wasn't around to watch :) For some reason I felt funny completing the layout in her presence. I guess I wanted it to be a surprise. I'm still not a scrapbooker but I was pleased with the way it turned out. I had a great time with Theresa while I finished the layout!

Tammy's December Results

Finally, with only 7 months to go until Christmas, I have my December kit challenge results to share. I believe I made these while in Idaho??? Honestly, I don't remember it has been so long but I do remember having a great time making the cards. Marieke set the bar high with her collection of cards! Here they are all together. The one in the back is "illegal" or a non-kit card, the rest are all within the rules :)

This one is my favorite:

A set of twins:

Snowflake front and center. I really wanted to use the clear ovals but not sure how much I like them on this card:

And lastly, the non-kit card with additional die cuts and embossing plate background:

I have September's challenge finished but I want to give the pages to Rachel before I post them. Finally, I am all caught up. Now I'm ready to tackle whatever new idea we want to pursue!

Tammy's October Results

Better late (7 months!) than never, right? Actually, this was done in January and then only took me 4 months to get it photographed :) I was totally stumped on what to do with this challenge. I spent quite a bit of time looking for quotes online from the movie with plans to do something "tea party" related but was at a loss. While in Idaho in January I was somehow inspired to make my first mini album. It needs to be filled up but here are the bare bones. And, I discovered that I really like mini albums (sort of like a series of cards). I'll be making more of these. Thanks Theresa for the challenge and helping me discover my new love for mini albums.

The rings a bit too big. I think I will find smaller ones to use or add ribbon, etc to dress them up. I made some errors when writing in the pages but decided to "keep it real" and stick with the imperfect pages...

Rachel's November Results

Here is my November project. Hooray! I couldn't bear to cover up that beautiful hand stamped paper, so I cut it in half and used it to flank my block of photos and journaling.

I also couldn't decide which ribbon to use, so I incorporated a little bit of each of them. I am really happy with the way this layout came out, even if I feel like Tammy did all of the work! :)

Rachel's October Results

So, without further ado: Here is my October project. I decided to do a layout with a Halloween theme, but still remaining true to Alice in Wonderland. Hanna kept referring to her Halloween party as her "Halloween Birthday." And thus I had the perfect idea for a title.

I cut the clocks out of patterned paper and matted the circle photos on to them. I included journaling on the tag provided in the kit, which I tucked behind one of the photos. The letters are of course left over from Tammy's November kit.

Thank you so much for the awesome kit and challenge, Theresa! It was a lot of fun to work with.
