November Kit

I finally have the November kit finished! My fingers are ink stained, a little sore, and I somehow broke my C plate for the cuttlebug but I had a wonderful time putting everything together. Here are some pictures of what the kit contains...

5 sheets of 12x12 solid colored cardstock, 2 patterned papers (handstamped), 2- 8 1/2x11 sheets, and 5- 8x8 patterned papers along with 4 different types of ribbon, 2 feet each.

A die cut alphabet (3 to 4 of each letter, some upper and lower), die cut acorns and leaves, along with several sentiments for either layouts or cards.

Brown/white bakers twine, mini clothespins, corduroy buttons, felt flowers and acorns, rhinestones, and some miscellaneous metal embellishments.

I hope to get the kit in the mail early this week. I hope you all enjoy creating with it!

Claudia's September Results

It's been too long! I had a lot of fun with Rachel's challenge. I got Marieke, who sent in pictures and journaling of both of Lily's grandfathers meeting her. The pictures were so sweet... it's amazing how a baby can make grown men melt! You can just see in their faces how in love with Lily they are.

Marieke suggested a title with the word 'grand' in it, which I fully intended to follow, but I found an adorable title from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two line that I could not pass up: "This is what love looks like." Marieke's journaling went along with that theme perfectly... it was just meant to be. Marieke, I hope you like the layout.

P.S.   I am so happy I actually finished something!

Rachel's September Results

I had Claudia, and what a treat it was to put this layout together of her son Gavin's fourth birthday! She had only two requests. First, that the layout be two pages, in line with Gavin's scrapbook so far, and second, that I include the birthday invitation itself. She included some scraps of paper leftover from matting the invitation, as well as some Toy Story themed stickers and other coordinating embellishments.

Here is what I came up with:

I loved that there were different photos from each of the celebrations, and they all told a story, which tied in so nicely with the theme. The title was a no brainer for me.

I loved the detailed journaling that Claudia provided and decided to include the journaling in a bullet point style as a list of captions for the pictures. I have always wanted to try this out, and thought this was the perfect opportunity.

I just happened to have two sets of the little yellow number circles. I also had the felt number and ribbon in my stash, which I thought was in keeping with the primary color color scheme.

Marieke's September Results

I had Theresa and she gave me two great options. Time and life limitations (otherwise known as a two month old baby named Lily) kinda forced me to do the easier of the two. However, I have printed out both sets of photos and plan to finish the other set, as well, when time permits. Maybe when she visits in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.

Here are some photos of the results. Please keep in mind that these were taken under a bright light in the kitchen (on the island on a paper towel, no less) at midnight because of those life limitations mentioned above. The gold accents are not so gold in person, they just caught the glare of the light.


I really liked how I picked up the pearl accents on the bouquet stems by adding pearls to the ribbon. Not sure how I feel about the title. I haven't used rub-ons in ages, but they were gold and I thought they would be perfect.

September Challenge: Scrapper's Block

This month's challenge is entitled "Scrapper's Block." The concept is pretty simple. Each group member was instructed to send me a starting point for a project that they may have sitting on the back burner, or something they have started and haven't seemed to be able to finish. It could be some photos and some journaling, or some paper and embellishments that they really like together but don't know what to do with. I assigned each unfinished project to another member of the group to complete. I cannot wait to see the results!

Rachel's August Results

First off, let me just say this: I love this stamp set. When I first got it, I couldn't stop staring at it. It's just gorgeous. Thank you, Tammy, for the challenge, and for the gift that keeps on giving. I love the idea of making a set of cards using all of the different sentiments. For now, I made two cards using leftover paper from previous kits and that beautiful ribbon from Marieke's November heritage-themed kit from last year:

Apologies for picture quality - someday I will learn that taking photographs during the day is really the only way to go.

Tammy's August Results

Finally, I am posting on time for a change :) Here are my creations with the Papertrey Anniversary stamp set. I really like the simplicity of this set. It doesn't take much to make a nice card. At first I didn't like the font of the "y" but it is growing on me. Here they are all together:

And here they are one at a time. I went a bit overboard with the flowers on the first one :)

I made sure to take them all in one direction since I seem to have issues with blogger and loading photos sideways...

August Challenge

The challenge for August is an easy one. All you need to do is make something utilizing the stamps in the Papertrey Ink Anniversary stamp set that I gave each of you. The single rule is that you only use stamps from that set. Feel free to use any paper, embellishments, etc. A nice and easy challenge to end the summer. I hope you like the set and I look forward to seeing what you create.

July 2011 Kit

This month's challenge is hosted by Theresa, and it is called Chopped 3-2-1 (inspired by the Food Network).

The rules are as follows. You must create at least one project (e.g., a card or layout), in which you use items from three separate groupings.

(1) Use three pages from the calendar supplied (which should make up at least 25% of the visible space).

(2) Use at least two separate elements from "2" bag consisting of rub-ons, tag book and ribbon.

(3) Use at least one piece from the embellishment bag, consisting of metal items and office supplies.

Tammy's July Results

Finally, I am caught up! I absolutely loved this calendar paper. I was really concerned about meeting all of the elements of the challenge and was only able to make one card that fit in the "rules" but the paper was so gorgeous I had to keep playing. There are still so many things I want to do with this paper!
